It's a new year and how old does that make your mattress?
Everyone's preference differs when it comes to the type and firmness of their mattress. According to your individual needs a particular type of mattress might be best suited but how do you choose?
First Off- Purchase
new- never used. Second- Shop at a reputable store and make sure the mattress arrives from the manufacturers wrapped in plastic.
Which size is best?
Twin: Approximately 75 inches long, 38 wide
Only built for one individual and may be too short for anyone over 5 feet, 5 inches
Full or "Double": Approximately 75 inches long, 53 inches wide
The Better Sleep Council recommends consumers view full-sized beds as "singles" and only purchase them for individuals under 5'5"
Queen : Approximately 80 inches long, 60 inches wide
Built better for couples and one of the most popular mattress sizes. Each individual has about 30 inches of personal space which is compareable to if they were sleeping alone in a twin bed.
King: Approximately 75 inches long, 76 inches wide
With 38inches of personal space this would be the same as sleeping in two twin beds
California King: Approximately 84 inches long, 72 wide
